Technology Action Plan - Lowery

Based on the Allen ISD Beliefs (we believe every child deserves the highest quality education and we hold ourselves accountable to every child who walks through our door) and Mission (in Allen ISD, in every school, every day, every child will be provided with engaging school work). The following action plan has been provided and should be implemented.

In order to align the campus with the district’s beliefs, mission, and direction of meeting the 21st Century leaning environment and 5-year strategic plan, part of the goal is to expand the learning environment beyond the classroom by doing the following;

- Provide various opportunities for students to participate in learning experiences beyond the school day, using technology.
- Develop a system for sharing and collaborating ideas to engage students in learning experiences outside the traditional classroom setting with technology involvement.
- Ensure that all students have access to the technology they need to be successful from home or before/after school hours.
- Increase the use of collaborative website tools to promote communication by collecting and reporting information.
- Training that relates to instruction of students with disabilities and is designed for educators who work primarily outside the area of special education.
- Providing training informing all staff on the district awards for teacher excellence (DATE), an annual grant program under which the District may receive a grant for the purpose of providing awards to classroom teachers and District employees, especially those who use innovative technological methods to enhance student instruction.
- Under the Children’s Internet Protection Act (CIPA), implement certain Internet safety measures to promote proper and appropriate internet sue by all students.
